Tanning Beds and Skin Cancer? What’s The Relationaship?

A response to tanning beds and skin cancer and the World Health Organization…

open tanning bedTanning beds will increase your risks of skin cancer, says the World Health Organization. But their argument has many flaws. Old studies, and bad analysis.

The data they studied which shows that tanning beds and skin cancer are closely related…in other words tanning beds will increase your risks of skin cancer, is old.

I am not saying that you won’t get skin cancer from tanning in a tanning bed. You will definitely increase your risks if you tan in a tanning bed frequently, and not take care of your skin.

You must tan in moderation and do not burn. Tan in high level tanning beds that emit mostly UVA. Old tanning beds and cheap beds emit mostly UVB which is the burning ray.

Tanning in moderation actually has benefits! Imagine that. The World Health Organization doesn’t seem to want to point that out. If you are doubtful watch the video and read the related articles below…

Like I said tanning beds and cancer are related, if you over do it, and you are tanning in cheap low level tanning beds frequently. However, tanning in a tanning bed in moderation has benefits. More than just looking good and looking healthy.

Did you know that there is a vitamin D deficiency epidemic? Why do you need Vitamin D? How do you get it…the best way? Read this…

Tanning Beds and Skin Cancer Part 2:

There are benefits from tanning in a tanning bed. One of these benefits is vitamin D production:

sun burn

Sun Burn

The fact is, you are less likely to burn if you have a base tan. Apparently, tanning and vitamin d have a lot to do with reducing cancer…certain types of cancer! This is a huge breakthrough that Dermatoligists are not happy about. Also referred to as the sunshine vitamin, vitamin d is produced naturally as a result of exposure to UV.

The tanning industry has been getting hit hard by the anti tanning agenda, and the media has gone along with them. But, as you will see two recent studies are going under the radar which put them in their place…

According to Globe & Mail, “A four year clinical trial involving 1,200 women found those taking the vitamin (D) had about a 60-percent reduction in cancer incidence, compared with those who didn’t take it, a drop so large — twice the impact on cancer attributed to smoking — it almost looks like a typographical error.” Another study found that getting Vitamin D naturally by exposing skin to UV light was better than using supplements.

Tanning And Vitamin D: The Sunshine Vitamin Helps Prevent MS?

An abundance of Vitamin D seems to help prevent multiple sclerosis, according to a study in more than 7 million people that offers some of the strongest evidence yet of the power of the “sunshine vitamin” against MS. The research found that white members of the U.S. military with the highest blood
levels of vitamin D were 62 percent less likely to develop multiple sclerosis than people with low levels.

This is good news for the tanning industry, but please don’t use this as an excuse to ‘over tan’. By the way. There’s more to read. For links to the full story on each study, go to…

Tanning And Vitamin D Reduces Chances Of Getting Cancer?

Breakthrough Video From NBC!!! Must See…described what dermatologists don’t want you to know.

Is a tanning bed a good source of vitamin d?

You bet. UV exposure causes your body to produce vitamin d naturally. You might even see new tanning beds titled: tanning bed vitamin d in the near future. That’s how big this story is. Frankly we are shocked that the media has reported on it. They have been really hard on the tanning industry because they have only been listening to dermatologists (in our opinion).

In our opinion, tanning beds are better than the sun. See the video above. Because if you go out in the sun, you will lose track of time and end up getting burned. Burning is a no no. But a tanning bed is a measurable amount of time, and you are being consulted by a (hopefully) professional.

Tanning and vitamin d are a good thing in small measurable doses. So now you can build your tan slowly, and fight cancer with the sunshine vitamin!
